MINK Counter Mobility System
CAPABILITY OVERVIEW
The MINK Counter-Mobility System is a highly mobile platform designed to support the rapid deployment of mine-based counter-mobility capabilities. It enables military forces to establish tactical minefields within a short period of time, significantly reducing the reliance on manual, time-consuming and potentially hazardous mine-laying operations. By rapidly creating obstacles to enemy movement, the system can contribute to restricting, delaying, disrupting, channeling or blocking opposing forces, thereby supporting both defensive operations and maneuver warfare.
Modern, automated mine-laying capabilities have regained significant importance in high-intensity land warfare. Recent operational experience, including lessons observed during the Russia–Ukraine war, has highlighted the importance of rapidly deployable counter-mobility capabilities for shaping the battlefield, protecting defensive positions and supporting maneuver operations.
MISSION ROLE
- Rapidly Configurable Minefields. The MINK Counter-Mobility System enables the rapid deployment of anti-tank minefields tailored to the tactical situation. Its high mobility allows commanders to establish or reinforce counter-mobility obstacles quickly in response to changing battlefield requirements.
- Supporting the Effects of Friendly Fires. By restricting, delaying and channeling the movement of opposing armored forces, the system supports the effective employment of friendly direct and indirect fires. Counter-mobility obstacles can be integrated into the overall defensive concept to shape enemy movement and increase the effectiveness of other weapon systems.
-Flank, Rear-Area and Critical Infrastructure Protection. The MINK can support the protection of exposed flanks, rear areas, key approaches and critical infrastructure by rapidly establishing counter-mobility obstacles where and when required.
- Reduced Deployment Time and Manpower. Compared with conventional manual mine-laying operations, the mechanized MINK solution significantly reduces the time and personnel required to establish tactical minefields. This enables faster deployment, increased operational flexibility and a higher operational tempo.
